Outfit seeks action against ‘whimsical’ fee hike by private schools

Jamshedpur: City-based NGO Jan Satyagrah has demanded government’s intervention to stop whimsical charging of fees by private schools in the city.

A delegation of outfit members met the deputy commissioner of East Singhbhum Amit Kumar and handed over a memorandum addressed to Chief Minister Raghubar Das to him demanding prompt action.

The outfit member Manjeet Kumar Mishra said the private schools had increased fees by 10 to 15 per cent. The prices of books and copies had also been increased, he said. He said it was the duty of the government to take up the issue and initiate measures to control the arbitrary behavior by such schools.

Other delegation members included Rajesh Jha, Mahesh Paswan, Pawan Upadhyaya, Umesh Upadhyaya, Jeet Arjya, Durga Prasad and Satendra Sharma.
