OT inaugurated at new MGM Hospital in Jamshedpur, Gynaecology department fully shifted

Jamshedpur: In a significant step towards strengthening healthcare infrastructure, the Operation Theater (OT) of the newly constructed MGM Hospital (Dimna Campus) was formally inaugurated today. With this development, the Gynaecology and Obstetrics Department has been completely shifted from the old campus to the new state-of-the-art facility. All future admissions and treatments related to gynaecology and obstetrics will now be handled at this new building.

The event marks a major milestone in the phased relocation of MGM Hospital under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi and the leadership of the Project Director, Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA). The shifting process has gained strong momentum, with several key services already operational.

Two successful procedures—one normal delivery and one cesarean section—were performed on the first day of OT operations, signaling the start of full-scale medical services in the new setup.

The newly constructed hospital is equipped with advanced healthcare amenities, including Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), and dedicated pediatric wards. Comprehensive maternal and child health services are also being rolled out. Infrastructure enhancements and service streamlining are being carried out actively with the participation of the hospital’s Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent, and Principal.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi expressed his satisfaction with the progress. “Providing better medical facilities to the citizens of East Singhbhum is the district administration’s top priority. The launch of advanced services at the new MGM Hospital will ensure that patients receive modern, high-quality treatment all under one roof,” he said.

He further assured that the district administration, in coordination with hospital management, remains committed to delivering accessible and quality healthcare to the people.

The administration has appealed to the public to begin availing themselves of gynecological and obstetrics services at the newly constructed MGM Hospital, which promises a modern and patient-friendly environment.
