Ornaments worth lakhs stolen from locked house near Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Nov 21: Unidentified thieves took away cash and ornaments worth several lakhs from a locked house at Road No 19 under RIT police station area of Adityapur late yesterday night.

The house owner, Lala Shashi Bhushan has lodged a police complaint in this connection. He said he learnt about the theft on returning home this morning. He said the window was broken and the entire house was in disarray. He informed police about the incident.

Bhushan had gone to his daughter’s matrimonial house at Road No 10 in Adityapur 2 when the theft took place. The thieves stole away ornaments worth Rs 3 lakh along with a laptop and other valuables.

Cops said a probe was on to detect the theft.

Cash and ornaments stolen at Olidih

Jamshedpur, Nov 21: Thieves took away cash and ornaments worth Rs 1 lakh from the house of one Neeraj Kumar Prabhakar at Road No 1, Kalikanagar, under Olidih police station area on the night of 18th October last.

Sources said the culprits stole cash worth Rs 20,000, gold and silver ornaments, silver coins and a mobile phone from the house. Prabhakar was away on night duty when the theft took place.

Police said an investigation was on into the incident.
