Jamshedpur: The chairman of Uttar Pradesh Minority Commission Shakil Ahmad today said that the welfare schemes being run for the minority community will be brought under vigil to make sure that their beneficiaries get the benefits without fail.
Ahmad said stringent action will be taken in cases of violation of rights of the minorities. He said the Commission will make sure that the rights of minorities as laid down in the Constitution are not encroached upon by anyone.
Ahmad was in the city on his maiden visit on Thursday. He said the Commission was soon going to start Ayog Apke Dwar scheme in Uttar Pradesh to address the grievances of minority communities.
Ahmad blamed the Opposition parties of UP for the riots in Muzaffarnagar and the power crisis. He said the Opposition parties were trying to destabilize the Akhilesh Yadav government and bring a bad name to it. He also blamed the media for showing partiality.
The Commission chairman further said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had made tall claims to the people of Varanasi during election. �Narendra Modi has promised to give 60 flyovers to the people of Varanasi. Now it is time the promise is kept,� he said.
