Because none of the administrative officials knew any such language, Hemant Soren reprimanded the officials for not knowing the local language.
In view of this, the Jharkhand government has now decided that it will be compulsory for all IAS and IPS officers working in the state to learn tribal languages. For this, there will be a 3-month online course, through which officers will be able to learn the culture and history of the tribal society along with Kurukh, Mundari, Khadia, Ho, Santhali and Bhumij languages, so that officers can interact with the tribals or common people of the village. Be able to speak the language.
After the instructions of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, the welfare department has made this plan. The Tribal Research Institute (TRI) has also been asked to develop the curriculum. According to welfare department official Mukesh Kumar, the 3-month course will be compulsory for all officers and an online examination will be conducted after it. After passing the exam, the officer will be given a certificate. There will be a provision to retake the exam in case of failure.
