Bolani, June 30: Bolani Ores Mines of SAIL, went on a 24 hour joint strike commencing 5 am on Wednesday, June 30. The employees owing allegiance to AITUC, INTUC, CITU and HMS had been basically agitating for an eight fold demand. The employees of the joint unions demanded immediate finalization of wage settlement, payment with full arrears effective from January 1, 2017, non curtailment of gratuity benefits, enhancement of wages of all contractual workers, compassionate employment to dependents of employees who died of COVID infection and that such deaths were to be treated by the SAIL management as in the course of employment, RMD should not be discontinued, opposition to arbitrary decision of NPS and to disinvestment and privatization move of any SAIL unit.
