Jamshedpur: Kerala Samajam is set to celebrate Onam this year with a series of traditional events. The highlight will be the welcoming of King Mahabali, where a member dressed as the King will greet and bless attendees. The celebration will feature Thiruvathira dance, Kolkali, a Boat Race depiction, songs, and games. The celebrations will be held on Sunday, 29th September 2024, from 11:00 am at the KSMS school premises in Golmuri
The Ona Sadhya, a Kerala-style feast served on banana leaves, will include over 20 dishes such as Rice, Parippu, Sambar, Rasam, Kaalan, Olan, Avial, Thoran, Kuttukari, Elissery, Rasam, Butter milk, Mango Achar, lemon Achar, Ginger curry, Banana chips, Sweet chips, Papad, Banana Payasam (Kheer), and more, catering to around 1,250 people, informed Sunil Kumar, General Secretary, of Kerala Samajam.
