Jamshedpur, Jan 11: The old students of Loyola School paid homage to their departed beloved teacher Zarine Mody on the school campus on Saturday evening. Principal father Vinod Fernandes along with two dozen students from various batches were present at the solemn programme.

Fernandes paying respects to Zarine recalled her long contribution to the school as teacher which was more than 33 years. Teacher Zarine passed away in Mumbai recently.

Senior official from TSUISL Earnest Paul in an emotional address said Zarine as his class teacher always knew how to extract the best out of a student. She knew what was best in each student beyond academics.

Old student and presently senior journalist from The Times of India, Debasish Chatterjee, said, “Teacher Zarine was always active to share knowledge outside textbooks, which is very important to shape human lives. She always made her classes lively. New generation teachers should make such teachers their role models.”

An alumnus of Loyola and one of the brass of Loyola Alumni Association and entrepreneur Rajiv Talwar threw light on how teacher Zarine has always been an honest speaker in her daily life.

Entrepreneur Savak Patel, also secretary of LAA, recalled teacher Zarine’s classes during his school days. Students enjoyed attending her classes.

Later, old students of the school paid floral tributes to teacher Zarine. Tributes were offered by old students through social media platforms as they could not be physically present in the programme.
