Jamshedpur, February 1: According to a press communiqué issued by Tata Steel, the company on Sunday successfully carried out the controlled demolition of the obsolete Coal Tower of Battery #7 at its Coke Plant in Jamshedpur. The demolition was executed at 12:05 pm using advanced and globally proven controlled demolition technology.
The company said the activity was part of its ongoing efforts to safely dismantle outdated industrial structures in a planned, scientific and environmentally responsible manner. The operation was completed smoothly with strict adherence to all safety protocols, ensuring no impact on employees, plant operations or nearby facilities.

The demolition was carried out by Edifice Engineering India, a specialised agency with wide global experience in complex demolition projects. Advanced methods were used to minimise environmental impact while maintaining high safety standards.
The communiqué added that all necessary statutory approvals and No Objection Certificates (NOCs) were obtained from the concerned authorities in advance. Comprehensive safety, security and emergency preparedness arrangements were in place throughout the process.
Tata Steel reiterated its commitment to operational excellence, safety and environmental sustainability, and said it will continue adopting best practices in modernising and managing its infrastructure.
