Jamshedpur, Jan 23: District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner of East Singhbhum has written to Chief, Corporate Administration, Tata Steel, demanding a lease rent payment of Rs 744,70,38,516 against the use of land situated in Mouja Jojobera by M/S Lafarge India Limited.
Sources said the district administration has calculated the said lease rent amount for a period of 23 years from 1999 to 2022 for commercial purpose. The amount includes lagan, cess, Salami and interest.
According to sources, Tata Steel has been asked to comply with the demand for rent lease as per the directive of the Revenue, Registration and Land Reforms Department, Government of Jharkhand. The DC has said that further action would be taken to realize the rent dues under Public Demand Recovery Act 1914, sources said.
