Jamshedpur, Sept 5: Nuvoco Vistas Corp. Ltd., India’s trusted building materials company and the fifth-largest cement player in terms of capacity, has always been committed to the well-being of communities around its operations. Guided by its 5 CSR pillars — the Company has been consistently and diligently working to enhance the quality of life in neighbouringareas of its manufacturing facility.
With multiple initiatives, Nuvoco’sJojobera Cement Plant has further strengthened its commitment to community development through a comprehensive range of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes during the last financial year. These extensive initiatives have directly benefited10,000+ community members across multiple villages in the region, focusing on the five key pillars — Shikshit Bharat (Education), Swasth Bharat (Healthcare), Saksham Bharat (Livelihood), SanrachitBharat (Infrastructure Development), and Sangrahit Bharat (Environmental Sustainability).

Environmental Conservation and Sustainability
The plant’s commitment to ecological sustainability is reflected through extensive tree plantation drives. In FY 2024-25, approximately 400 trees were planted across Sarjamda and Samutola villages, followed by an additional 200 trees in Samutola village in FY 2025-26. These initiatives contribute significantly to carbon sequestration, soil conservation, and biodiversity enhancement in the region.
Infrastructure and Safety Improvements
To enhance community safety and recreational opportunities, the plant installed four high-mast solar lights at the community park in ChotaGovindpur. This initiative has extended the park’s usability into the evening hours while improving pedestrian safety during nighttime.
Health and Sanitation Focus
Under its health initiatives, the plant distributed approx. 450 bags of 25 kgs each of bleaching powder to elected public representatives across 13 panchayats in its area of operations, supporting disease prevention efforts during the monsoon and autumn seasons. Additionally, comprehensive fogging activities were carried out in six panchayats to control the spread of vector-borne diseases during high-risk periods.
Flood Prevention and Water Management
In a proactive step towards disaster preparedness, the plant facilitated the cleaning of four major drains in Barigora, Rahargora, and Gadra villages during the rainy season, enhancing water draining capacity. Furthermore, pond cleaning activities were undertaken in the ChotaGovindpur area, restoring this vital water resource for community use.
