Jamshedpur, Sep 16: A woman named Ashtami Dheer, a resident of Suryabeda of Jugsalai assembly constituency, admitted for delivery in MGM Hospital, was allegedly assaulted by a nurse of the hospital. On Thursday a delegation of Samajik Seva Sangh lodged a complaint to the hospital superintendent, Dr. Arun Kumar. On hearing the complaint, Dr. Arun took immediate cognizance and called the nurse in-charge of the female ward and directed the immediate removal of the nurse.
Sangh convenor Rajesh Samant said that the family took a woman named Ashtami Dheer, a resident of Suryabeda, to MGM Hospital yesterday after labour pain. The woman was crying because of the pain. The nurse slapped the woman first, then hit her in the face with scissors.
After the incident, Sangh members went to the hospital this morning and inquired about the incident from the woman and her family members. The delegation included Vibhuti Sardar, Biswajit Bhagat, Bahadur Sharma, Chhote Sardar, Mangal Sharma, Sonu Srivastava, Raj Purti etc.
