Jamshedpur: Potka MLA Menka Sardar today inaugurated a Pragya Kendra in Nuagram under Potka block on Sunday.
Addressing a gathering on the occasion, the MLA said the district administration, acting on the guidelines of the Chief Minister, had set the ball rolling to make Nuagram a model village by embracing digital payment technology for cashless transactions.
“Nuagram will not only be a model village for East Singhbhum, but would also set an example for the other villages of Jharkhand,” said the legislator.
The MLA said the spirit of the villagers was encouraging. She said the villagers were happy to learn digital payment techniques as it was simple and user-friendly.
Also present on the occasion was the deputy collector of Chief Minister’s Camp Office Sanjay Kumar. Speaking to the villagers, he said the Central and state governments were running a campaign to spread literacy and awareness among the people on digital payments. He said the Common Service Centre was started at the Pragya Kendra to encourage and make available online payments and spread digital literacy.
“More than 200 public utility services related to Aadhar registration, PAN card, application for birth and death registration, e-recharge and rail and bus reservation will be made available at the Centre,” Kumar said.
