Jamshedpur, Apr 27: Final-year Mechatronics students at NTTF RD Education Tata Technical Training Institute, Kota, have successfully designed and developed an eco-friendly electric four-wheeler, taking a significant step toward promoting sustainable transportation. The students expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Principal Preeta John, CP15 Department Head and Project Coordinator Ajit Kumar, Section In-Charge Manish Kumar and Project Guide Jyoti Kumari Thakur for their invaluable support, guidance and encouragement throughout the project.
The team, led by Ankita Srivastava with co-leader Vishal Sarkar, included members Somil Daw Raj and Amitabh Kumar. Under the mentorship of Kaushal Kumar Thakur, the students showcased their technical skills and environmental commitment by creating a vehicle aimed at reducing carbon emissions and promoting green mobility. The project also received important support and direction from department and institute leadership, which was crucial to its success.

The newly developed electric four-wheeler is powered by a rechargeable battery pack, ensuring zero emissions during operation. It boasts impressive energy efficiency, allowing it to cover long distances with minimal power consumption. Advanced safety features, including regenerative braking, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Stability Control (ESC), have been incorporated to ensure safe travel. The vehicle also offers a spacious and comfortable interior, providing enhanced convenience for passengers and ample space for luggage.
The students stated that the core objectives of the project were to advance sustainable transportation, improve energy efficiency and enhance safety and comfort in electric vehicles. Looking ahead, the team plans to further refine the design and explore opportunities for commercialization and mass production, aiming to contribute meaningfully to India’s electric mobility mission. This project stands as a strong example of how academic institutions can play a vital role in addressing pressing environmental challenges through innovation and practical solutions.
