Jamshedpur, November 22: A two-day youth skill sports fest ‘NavYuvam 2024’ was organized at NTTF RD Tata Technical Institute, Golmuri, featuring sports events and project exhibition. The event aimed at promoting youth skills through sports and leadership activities.
Indian Air Force officer WO Hari Singh was the chief guest for the occasion, while the Principal of the Institute, Preeta John, also attended the event. Hari Singh emphasized the importance of sports in life, stating that sports not only infuse energy but also teach valuable lessons in willpower and determination. Principal Preeta John highlighted how sports help in understanding leadership and teamwork, values that were clearly displayed during the festival.

The event saw vibrant participation from several schools, including Adivasi Plus Two High School, Bal Gyan Peeth School, South Point School, Vidya Bharti Chinmaya, Sister Nivedita English School, and others. Students showcased their team spirit through sports such as football, volleyball, tug of war, and badminton.

In football, Vidya Bharti Chinmaya Vidyalaya triumphed in a thrilling penalty shootout, defeating BPM School of Excellence, Burmamines, 4-2. In badminton, Shruti from Kashidih High School won the Girls’ Singles first prize with a score of 10-8, while Ganesh Kumar from Utkal Samaj Inter College claimed the Boys’ Singles first prize with an 11-6 win.
The event was made possible with the support of Ramesh Rai, Vice Principal, along with various faculty members and staff, including Shivaprasad, BP Acharya, Laxman Soren, and many others, who helped in the successful organization of the sports fest.
