NTHA to take on Munda Samaj ‘A’ in finals of JSA Hockey Tournament

Jamshedpur: Naval Tata Hockey Academy (NTHA) and Bharat Munda Samaj ‘A’ team reached the final of the JSA Open Hockey Invitational tournament.

In the semi finals played on Wednesday at Naval Tata Hockey Astro Turf Stadium, ISWP Sports Complex Bharat Munda Samaj ‘A’ defeated Jamshedpur Friends Club ‘ B’ by 2-1 in the Group A encounter.
Ismael Toppo turned out to be the hero of the side scoring both the goals for Bharat Munda Samaj ‘A’ in the 15th & 20th minute.
B Barjo scored the only goal for Jamshedpur Friends Club ‘ B’ at 30th minute.

In the second semi final match Naval Tata Hockey Academy crushed Bharat Munda Samaj ‘B’ by 11 goals to 0 in the Group B encounter.

Birsa Munda scored 3 goals at 28th, 34th and 43rd minute, Simon Bodra at 6th minute, Deepak Soreng at 7th and 15th minute, Jit Pahan Bhengra at 26, Sem Munda at 24, Gomeya Tuti at 38, Deonish Soy at 13, and Sukhnath Guria at 40th minute.
Referees for the matches were Manjit Singh, Anup, Adam, Sosen Nag, Siblan Aind and Sanjay Karketta. Match Observers were B Guria, M Barla, D Kamndulna and JTiru.
Francis Xavier; Vice Chairman of JSA Hockey Sub Committee, Sanjay Mishra and members of JSA Hockey Sub Committee were present.

The final match of the tournament will be played between Naval Tata Hockey Academy and Bharat Munda Samaj ‘A’ on August 24 from 6.00 PM under floodlights.
Chief Guest for the final match will be Neeraj Kant, MD ISWPL.

Four players are in race for highest goal scorer award. Johan Kandir of Bharat Munda Samaj ‘B’ with 4 goals, Ismael Toppo of Bharat Munda Samaj ‘A’ 4 goals, Simon Bodra of Naval Tata Hockey Academy – 4 goals and Birsa Munda of Naval Tata Hockey Academy – 4 goals.
