NSS unit of Srinath University and College of Education adopt Udaipur village

Jamshedpur, May 18:  Under the joint aegis of Srinath University and Srinath College of Education, the nod was given for the adoption of Udaipur village in Gamharia by the joint institutions’ National Service Scheme (NSS). The decision was made in a review meeting comprising Pro chancellor Gurudev Mahato, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Govind Mahato, NSS Program Officer Lakshmi Mahato and Registrar Sudhanshu Shekhar Mahato.

A meeting to the effect was held in Udaipur village that was presided by Mukhiya Bokeshwar Mahato. Panchayat Head Parvati Sardar along with Paresh Mahato, Mangal Hembram, Savita Devi, Jayanti Mahato, Mani Baskey and Baikunth Mahato were also present in the meeting. 

Topics discussed in detail Included education pattern implementation in Udaipur village, women empowerment, campaign against alcohol, de-addiction, health and hygiene and youth employment. Talking about the process of adoption of Udaipur village by the university and college, Vice-Chancellor Dr Govind Mahato said that keeping in view the rules of Srinath University and Srinath College of Education in purview of UGC norms, Udaipur village had been adopted under National Service Scheme.  “Henceforth, Srinath University and Srinath College of Education will; be committed to the allround education and wellbeing of Udaipur village children, women empowerment, campaign against alcoholism, de-addiction, rural cleanliness and youth employment and every possible effort will be made by the University to ensure that the purpose of adopting Udaipur village is attained,” said Dr Govind Mahto. Most of the Udaipur villagers were present during the meeting.
