The Police Department has now employed technology: you just have to log into and key in your compliant.
You will not only reach your grievance to the Superintendent of Police concerned but also track the response using the number generated automatically by the system.
A complainant has log on the website “jofs.jharkhand.gov.in” mentioning the police station’s name, and
the complaint will be immediately registered.
The system of lodging police complaint online was introduced in Kadma and Sonari (both in the city) and Potka police stations in the East Singhbhum district after Chief Minister Raghubar Das inaugurated the system on-line from Ranchi at 9 am today.
The district police had organised a function near the Senior SP office in Bistupur on the occasion when superintendent of police (city) Chandan Jha, SP (rural) Shailendra Kumar Sinha and all the deputy superintendents of police as well as officersin-charge of police stations attended it.
This is one of the several innovative measures that police department wants to bring in order to make the
police accessible to people.
“Online filing of complaints will be one of the several features you will find in the website which is being updated,” said a “tech savvy” police officer.
Non-registration of complaints by the police has been one of the common complaints. The other accusations
include harassment and bribe.
“Such issues will not arise if there is prompt action at the ground level,” he said.
