Notice to 40 builders over absence of rainwater harvesting system

Jamshedpur, April 14: Forty builders in Jugsalai area who have been found ignoring the provisions of the approved lay out in the building construction have been sent notice and have been asked for a written response by municipality.

According to the notice, builders have been asked that under what provision the rain water harvesting facility has not been made when it was mentioned in the building constructing layout that it is mandatory.

On Tuesday the municipality officials while carrying out the inspection to overcome the water scarcity caught the mess.

Several real estate companies in other parts of the city who have built multistoried residential complexes, malls and commercial buildings with no rainwater harvesting system, against the commitment they made at the time of seeking approval of the project from the government, shall face the action.

About two dozen new high rise commercial buildings have come up in the Bistupur and Sakchi in the last five years and several among them lacks rainwater harvesting system.

The district administration is working day and night to arrange water to the residents living in the areas confronting shortage of water in and around the Steel city and have found that several builders have not implemented rainwater harvesting system in the building.

The DC, Amitabh Kaushal, has instructed officials concerned to identify defaulter builders and owners of such buildings, where rainwater facility is none existent and take action.

A JNAC official said, inspection of the buildings will be done to enquire about the rainwater harvesting system and if the building is found without the facility action will be taken.

He informed that several defaulter builders will be exposed during the inspection and proper probe will also bring out the involvement of the builders and concerned department officials.

The builders in Jugsalai who have been sent notice include- Khirwal Apartment Sunil Singh of Station Road, Kumari Apartment Tilakdhari Singh of Jugsalai Goushala, Krishna Janki Apartment Gulag Ahuja, Baba Baroda Apartment Yugal Kishore, Alankar Enclave Krishna Kumar Tapadia, Mathura Villa Sunil Kumar, Narayni Apartment Savita Mahato, Ashirwad Enclave, Supreme Construction Sanjay Kumar Dubey etc.

�We will strictly adhere the rain water harvesting facility in the under construction buildings in Jugsalai.

Those builders who have not followed the provisons in the building layout have been sent notice and if improvement is not made then legal action will be taken�, said Surendra Prasad, special officer, Jugsalai Municipality.
