Jamshedpur, Oct 19: Music and poetry lovers of Steel City enjoyed a fun filled Saturday evening of Mushaira by eminent artists of national repute and made each and every one present at the event love it to the core.
Mannan Mallick, Minister, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and disaster management, Government of Jharkhand present as the chief guest for the occasion listened to Urdu poets for almost hours under the soft lights of the temporary setup at Dhatkidih community centre on Saturday. Sixteen scholars presented their work at a grand Urdu mushaira, an event similar to a poetry recital.
The Minister along with Tata Steel officials smiled and nodded appreciatively whenever poets used a particularly clever turn of phrase or witty verse.
The audience, which included writers and locals of the Jamshedpur, burst out with a congratulatory `wah’ when poets skilfully used rhythmic metre in their verse. Crowd in large numbers came and enjoyed this enthralling experience which eventually mesmerized them and their enchanting creations.
Earlier the program organized by urban services of Tata Steel was jointly inaugurated by Chief Guest Mannan Mallick, Guest of Honour Jusco MD Ashish Mathur and Chief of Tata Steel Rural Development Society (TSRDS), Biren Bhutta.
On the occasion Sanjay, Head Urban services said this was the first time a mushaira is being organized.
