Jamshedpur: In a tragic mishap, three persons were killed and two others injured as the car in which they were travelling was hit by a dumper at Kuchinta village on Jagannathpur-Noamundi Road in West Singhbhum district, about 90 Kms away from here this afternoon.
Two of those killed were couple and the third one was a two-year-old baby. Those killed were identified as RajendraNathMahapatra (55) and JyoshnaMahapatra, both residents of Seraikela and Falguni Panda (2), a resident of Barbil in Odisha.
The injured were identified as Rahul Kumar Panda (32) and Shusmita Panda (26), both residents of Barbil. The injured who are also couple were admitted at a hospital in Noamundi.
OC, Noamundipolice station, BN Ram said that the mishap took place at about 12.30 pm, when the victims were going to Barbilby a car.
” As per our investigation the car was crossing Jagannathpur-Noamundi Road suddenly a speeding dumper that was coming from the opposite direction hit the four-wheeler. Following the mishap, the Mahapatracouple were killed on the spot and the toddler who was their grand-daughter was fatally injured,” said Ram.
The OC, said the toddler was declared as brought dead at the Noamundi hospital, where her parents were also admitted after the mishap.
