Jamshedpur, Aug 11: Jamshedpur is on its way to become coronavirus-free district. As Covid cases dip across Jharkhand, Jamshedpur had zero fresh cases on Wednesday, August 11. It is after a day’s gap that Jamshedpur reported no fresh cases. Earlier on August 9, 2021 Jamshedpur recorded no new positives.
With the highest testing, highest recovery rate and lowest test positivity rate, Jamshedpur has emerged as a clear winner in combating coronavirus as the Jharkhand’s Covid condition shows a healthier picture in comparison to all other states.
Meanwhile, East Singhbhum deputy commissioner Suraj Kumar has directed officials to carry out large scale testing, treatment and surveillance in order to bring down active cases and new infections. Further instructions have been issued to individual district officials in a series of meetings to prepare for a possible third wave of infections.
In the past four weeks, Jamshedpur has been reporting less than 10 Covid cases each day on an average. The tally of active cases in Jamshedpur has come down to 21 as per official figures. East Singhbhum is one of the several districts in the state that has not reported any fresh case in a day.
The Coronavirus tally in Jamshedpur remained at 51804.
With one fresh recovery on Wednesday, a total number of 50,726 patients have been discharged since the breakout while total active cases in Jamshedpur are 21.
Of the 21 patients still undergoing treatment for the coronavirus in the district, most are in home isolation, while some are being treated at care centres and hospitals.
As many as one person recovered from the virus on Wednesday taking the overall recoveries to 50726 which accounts for a recovery rate of 97.92%.
East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 496744 tests per million in the district. The recovery rate in Jamshedpur is 97.92% while the mortality rate is 2.04 %.
More than 6400 were tested on the day. Data from the state government’s daily health bulletin showed that the Covid-19 test positivity is 0.00%. The state, too, witnessed a massive fall in infections and fatalities.
The Steel City tested 6450 samples, of which, zero turned out positive while 1 person recovered from the Covid-19. The continuous high numbers of tests have pushed the positivity rate further down to 0.00 per cent, the government data showed.
So far in Jamshedpur 1331663 samples have been collected out of which 1322333 have been tested and 1270529 have turned out to be negative.
