Jamshedpur: East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar on Monday said the district administration would continue its campaign against overloading in school vehicles. He said no leniency would be shown to anyone found flouting road safety rules.

Addressing a meeting with the representatives of city schools, the DC said the district administration was not ready to compromise with the safety of children.

He said the auto-rickshaw and van drives cannot be allowed to blackmail the administration and parents into sending children in overloaded and dilapidated vehicles.

The DC asked a school management to begin its own bus service for students within a month. He said the administration would deal strictly with the adamant auto-rickshaw and van drivers creating law and order problem.
