Ranchi: There is no alternative of human blood. By donating it, the body does not lose its vitality. The body compensates for the loss by making more blood very fast. This was observed by Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday during a three day voluntary blood donation camp organized at Project Building in the state Capital. He said there are many misconceptions about blood donation among the people. Such misconceptions need to be removed so that the number of blood donors goes up. The CM was speaking as the chief guest of the occasion. Many other dignitaries were present during the blood donation camp. The CM said people often do not hesitate while giving blood to their near and dear ones. He said such people should also not hesitate while donating blood to other needy persons as well. Many other ministers, bureaucrats and blood donors were present during the camp. State animal husbandry and fishery minister Mannan Mallick was also present during the camp. He said there is need to spread awareness among the people regarding blood donation and its significance for the society. The state health minister Rajendra Prasad too, addressed the gathering. He said the state government was soon going to improve basic infrastructure in government hospitals of the state to improve the healthcare facilities.
