Jamshedpur : Security has beefed up in the city in view of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar�s public meeting at the Transport grounds in Agrico on Sundayat 5 PM. Senior police officials informed that in consultation with a security team from Patna they have ensured strict vigil at the venue.
Abhay Singh, central secretary of JVM said that apart from Nitish Kumar senior JVM leaders including Babulal Marandi, Saba Ahmed and Pradip Yadav will attend the meeting which is expecting a huge turnout.
Singh said the leaders will speak on issues like liquor ban, ownership rights of 86 slums, irregularities in land acquisition for Adani Group’s power plant at Godda and deteriorating law and order in Jamshedpur.
Nitish Kumar has been cautioning Jharkhand Government not to take any step to amend the Chotanagpur Tenancy (CNT) Act and the Santhal Pargana Tenancy (SPT).
In his last public addressed in September last year he noted that the acts are related with tribal sentiments and any step taken to amend them may have adverse effect on the State.
