Administration convenes meeting for Eid, magistrates to be deployed

Jamshedpur : The East Singhbhum administration is making elaborate arrangements to ensure peaceful Eid celebrations in the city. SDO Dhalbhum Manoj Kumar Ranjan convened a meeting of peace committee for Eid at his office.

To maintain law and order during the festivity apart from adequate number of police personnel on roads there will be around 30 magistrates at different strategic and communally sensitive locations.

During the meeting the peace committees members of respective police stations were ordered to coordinate with local police stations officials and the Muslim leaders.

� We want to ensure peaceful celebrations and we are taking steps in this regard. Traffic police department have been instructed to divert traffic on approach roads leading to mosques and Idgahs at morning when the prayers will be offered. We will also discuss about changing the no-entry timing for heavy vehicles with the traffic police as large number of devotees offer prayers on roads near mosques and Idgahs,� said SDO.

The local urban bodies have been asked to carry cleanliness drive on approach roads to Idgah and mosques. � We have been receiving complains of herbage and filth spread all over. Respective municipal bodies and Jusco have been asked to carry drive,� added Kumar.

SDO also asked the Jharkhand Urja Vidyut Nigam Limited (JUVNL) and local urban bodies�Mango notified area committee, Jugsalai municipality, Jamshedpur notified area committee and Tata Steel subsidiary Jusco to repair defective streetlights, loose electrical fires clean garbage ahead of the Id-ul-Fitr in city.

�We have received complain of a defective transformer near Mango Idgah and the JUVNL local officials have been directed to replace the transformer at the earliest ahead of the festivity.

This apart JUVNL officials have been asked to repair the loose wires, especially those crossing residential area near Idgah and Mosques,� said SDO Dhalbhum.

The local urban bodies have been asked to make arrangement of adequate number of water tankers to quench thirst of people thronging mosques and Idgah and also arrange for piped water supply in residential areas before the namaz timings.
