Khunti, March 9: In a significant development for the residents of Khunti, Jharkhand, Union Minister Arjun Munda is set to bring about transformative changes with the inauguration of three crucial road projects on March 10. The foundation stones for the Ranchi-Khunti four-lane bypass road, the widening of the existing Ranchi-Khunti road, and the Khunti-Karra-Bedo two-lane road will be laid online by Union Road, Transport, and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari.

The Ranchi-Khunti four-lane bypass road, stretching from Tupudana (NH 20, old 75E) to Kundibar Toli, aims to alleviate persistent traffic congestion and reduce road accidents in Khunti. This development is expected to enhance connectivity between Ranchi, Khunti, and Chaibasa districts, significantly cutting down travel time for commuters. Union Minister Arjun Munda emphasized that the completion of this project will not only address the long-standing demand for a bypass road in Khunti but also create substantial opportunities for the local population.

Munda highlighted the positive impact on local tourism, citing popular destinations such as Bhagwan Birsa Mrig Vihar, Panchghagh, and Hirni Falls, which will experience improved accessibility. The enhanced connectivity will also benefit nearby mining areas, contributing to the overall economic development of the region.

Another vital road project, the Khunti-Karra-Bedo two-lane road, spanning approximately 138 kilometers, will connect Khunti, Ranchi, and Lohardaga districts. This road is anticipated to become part of the proposed Sambalpur-Ranchi Expressway Economic Corridor in the future. The improved connectivity will facilitate easy commuting from Ranchi-Gumla (NH 23), Khunti-Torpa Kolebira (NH 143 D), Gumla-Simdega-Rourkela (NH 143), and Ranchi-Chaibasa (NH 20). Additionally, access roads to various tourist spots, including Sonmer Temple, Mahamaya Temple, Sai Temple, Latratu Dam, Ghaghari Dham, Netarhat, and Betla, are expected to spur tourism and create employment opportunities in the area.

Overall, these infrastructure developments are poised to usher in a new era of progress and convenience for the residents of Khunti, marking a significant milestone in the region’s growth.
