Jamshedpur: A team of six BTech students from NIT Jamshedpur emerged as national winners in the 7th edition of the Smart India Hackathon 2024 on December 12, 2024. Organized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in collaboration with the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC), the event saw participation from over 57,000 teams. Of these, 1,300 teams were selected for the Grand Finale.
The winning team, “Dead Lock,” consisting of Vikash Kumar (Team Leader), Aryan, Isha, Souya Dey, Arnav Raj, and Mrinal Kumar, secured the top spot with their innovative solution for the problem statement “Gamification for Rural Planning using Drone Land Survey Maps and GIS Data.”
The team’s success follows an internal hackathon held at NIT Jamshedpur, where more than 60 teams presented their ideas addressing various problem statements. The event was coordinated by Prof. D. K. Yadav and Dr. Vishesh Ranjan Kar. Prof. Goutam Sutradhar, Director of NIT Jamshedpur, congratulated the winning team, emphasizing the institute’s commitment to fostering innovation and nurturing young minds.
