NIT Jamshedpur organises workshop on NM-Fluids 2024

Jamshedpur, May 23: The Mathematics Department of NIT Jamshedpur recently concluded a five-day workshop titled “Numerical and Machine Learning Techniques for Fluid Dynamics (NM-Fluids 2024)” held from May 19 to May 23, 2024.

The workshop aimed to disseminate knowledge on the latest advancements in Numerical and Machine Learning Techniques for Fluid Dynamics. It witnessed active participation from over 30 research scholars and faculty members representing various prestigious institutes across India, including Jharkhand, Orrisa, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Madhya Pradesh.

Dr. Raj Nandkeolyar, the Head of the Mathematics Department, served as the Convener, while Dr. Rajat Tripathi acted as the Coordinator, and Prof. Ramayan Singh assumed the role of Chairman. Their collective efforts played a pivotal role in the successful organization of this intensive five-day workshop.

The event featured expert speakers from renowned institutions such as IITs, NITs, and esteemed establishments both within the country and abroad. Notable among them was Prof. Kozi Fukagata from Keiyo University, Japan, who delivered an insightful talk on “Machine learning assisted flow control using convolution neural networks.”

The workshop concluded on a patriotic note with the rendition of the National Anthem, marking the end of an enriching and productive gathering focused on the advancement of knowledge in the field of Fluid Dynamics through innovative numerical and machine learning techniques.
