NIT Jamshedpur Director inaugurates pond in Pindrabeda, roadmap for village’s development discussed

Seraikela, May 18: Pindrabeda village, located in Rapcha Panchayat of Gamharia block is dedicated to the preservation of its cultural heritage while striving for overall development. The village has produced talented archers who have represented both their home state of Jharkhand and the country. National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jamshedpur, under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan initiative will extend every possible effort to support the comprehensive progress of this village.

These sentiments were expressed by Prof. Gautam Sutradhar, Director of NIT Jamshedpur, during his address as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of a pond constructed under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan project in Pindrabeda, Rapcha Panchayat.

Satyanarayan Nanda, Chief CSR of Tata Steel, who graced the event as a special guest, initiated the plantation of fruit trees and fish farming around the pond, contributing to its aesthetic enhancement. He also assured the archers of ongoing support from Tata Steel for their future endeavors. Dr. Ranjit Prasad, Convener of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, discussed the roadmap for the village’s holistic development based on the survey conducted in collaboration with Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, NIT Jamshedpur, the Jharkhand Government, local industries, and voluntary organizations.

Dr. Prasad further revealed plans to organize educational tours to NIT Jamshedpur for rural children. The project is being led by Dr. Sangeeta Kumari from the Department of Civil Engineering at NIT Jamshedpur under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan initiative.

The pond inauguration ceremony in Pindrabeda, Rapcha Panchayat, was attended by Satyanarayan Nanda, Head of CSR at Tata Steel Long Products, Dr. Madhusudan Rao, Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, Dr. Ranjit Prasad, Convener of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, and Prof. Gautam Sutradhar, Director of NIT Jamshedpur, along with Sukumati Mardi, the head of Rapcha Panchayat. The event commenced with the offering of coconut water to the guests.

During the ceremony, the esteemed guests had the opportunity to meet the talented young archers practicing at Rapcha football ground. They expressed their appreciation for the achievements and dedication of the players. Village coach Prem provided insights into the players’ accomplishments and commitment, while also seeking support for the development of the ground and sports equipment. Dr. Rajat Tripathi, Dr. Shailesh Kumar, and Dr. Rinku were also present at the program. Following the inauguration, a meeting between the villagers and the guests took place in the village community building. During the address, Uday Mardi, the rural representative, extended a warm welcome to all the guests and expressed heartfelt gratitude to Unnat Bharat Abhiyan and NIT Jamshedpur on behalf of the villagers. He highlighted the positive impact the project has had on rural life. Sukumati Mardi, the chief of Rapcha, expressed gratitude for the support provided by Unnat Bharat Abhiyan and pledged full cooperation for future endeavors.
