Jamshedpur: The 2nd Industry-Academia Conclave at NIT Jamshedpur, has emerged as a beacon of innovation and collaboration. The event, inaugurated by Jharkhand Governor Santosh Gangwar, brought together industry leaders, academic stalwarts, and young innovators to discuss pathways for achieving the vision of “Developed India, Developed Jharkhand.”
The inaugural day witnessed vibrant discussions on intellectual property (IP) and innovation, with insights from distinguished panelists, including Prof. Ra (Director, IIT BHU), Prof. Amit Kumar (NIT Patna), and Dr. Sohini Banerjee (IISWBM Kolkata). Discussions revolved around fostering IP creation in cutting-edge technologies like AI, blockchain, and the metaverse.
A cultural evening followed, with mesmerizing performances by NIT Jamshedpur students, concluding with a fashion show that added a festive touch to the academic discourse.
Day two featured engaging panel discussions and a standout model presentation competition. – “Strategic Approaches for Social Development” emphasized Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) and collaboration between academia, industry, and government. Panelists included Dr. Dheeraj Kumar (IIT-ISM Dhanbad) and Satyanarayan Nanda (TSLPL).
“Industry 4.0 and Sustainability” focused on integrating IoT, robotics, and cyber-physical systems in manufacturing, with inputs from Prof. A. Elayaperumal (NIT Nagaland) and Kunal Ghosh (VSD Bangalore).
“Digital Twins in Smart Manufacturing” explored the adoption of advanced technologies for creating virtual replicas of industrial systems. Eminent speakers included Prof. Subhashish Bhowmick (IIEST Shibpur) and Debi Prasad Dash (Former GM, Indian Railways).
A key highlight was the model presentation, where over 90 innovative projects from 70 schools and colleges showcased advancements in smart technologies, AI, and IoT. Winners: Aastha Kumari and Shatakshi from Holy Cross School, Bokaro (₹1 lakh). Runners-up: Teams from DPS Bokaro and DAV Bistupur received recognition for their ingenuity.
The competition was graced by Chief Guest Prof. Amit Patra, with dignitaries like Dr. Shubhrakmal Dutta and ADM A.K. Verma in attendance.
The conclave reaffirmed NIT Jamshedpur’s commitment to fostering collaboration and innovation. With discussions on Industry 4.0, IPR, and digital twins, it provided a roadmap for achieving a sustainable and developed India by 2047. The final day promises further insights and a step closer to transforming innovation into impactful solutions.
