Jamshedpur: The NITJAA Scholarship Awards Ceremony 2025, organized by the Industry & Alumni Relations Division of NIT Jamshedpur, was a grand celebration of academic excellence and strong alumni relations.
The ceremony was graced by prominent dignitaries, including Prof. Goutam Sutradhar (Honorary Director, NIT Jamshedpur), Jitendra Kumar (President, NITJAA), Chitranjan Sahay (Distinguished Alumnus), Rear Admiral A.K. Verma, Prof. K.B. Yadav (Dean, Industry & Alumni Relations), Dr. Ramakrishna (Associate Dean, Industry & Alumni Affairs), and several other eminent personalities.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Meera Munda, a renowned social activist and influential leader from Jharkhand, delivered an inspiring speech emphasizing the transformative power of education and the significance of contributing to society. Her words resonated deeply with the audience, inspiring students and alumni alike to use their education for positive societal impact.
During his address, Jitendra Kumar emphasized the importance of alumni giving back to their alma mater. He highlighted how collective efforts and contributions from alumni can elevate NIT Jamshedpur to new heights of excellence. Chitranjan Sahay reminisced about his experiences from 1962 and underscored the importance of innovation and hands-on experimental work in engineering education. Rear Admiral A.K. Verma encouraged students to explore beyond conventional career paths, urging them to focus on innovation, research, and design. He inspired the young minds to aspire to be not only engineers but also entrepreneurs and researchers, contributing to the nation’s growth.
The event also featured an interactive session fostering meaningful discussions among faculty, students, and alumni. The session focused on promoting entrepreneurship and maximizing the potential of the NITJAA portal to strengthen networking and career opportunities for students.
The highlight of the ceremony was the scholarship distribution, which recognized and rewarded seven outstanding students – Amarjeet, Hrithik, Kriti, Anadi, Shivam, Hemanvita, and Priyanshu for their exceptional academic performance, leadership qualities, and innovative thinking. It was also announced that the scholarship amount would be increased to ₹51,000 per student from the next year, reflecting NITJAA’s commitment to student empowerment.
The Industry and Alumni Relations Division played a pivotal role in organizing the event, effectively bridging the gap between alumni and current students. At the conclusion of the ceremony, it was resolved to implement a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for future initiatives, ensuring sustained progress and continued growth for NIT Jamshedpur.
The event was attended by a large gathering, including students, alumni, deans, professors, as well as the Registrar of the institute, Col. Nishith Kumar Rai, and Media In-charge Sunil Kumar Bhagat.
