Nishan institute shines at the International Theatre Festival

Jamshedpur, July 20: The Nishan Institute of acting & performance, a premiere acting school in the city bagged several awards at the International Theatre Festival held at Cuttack in Odisha.

In this 12-day festival, the group from Jamshedpur performed two plays. The noteworthy play Matiyaburj (based on a Japanese play) was performed by Ramesh Chandra Shah.

It bagged several awards including the best play award; award for the best direction, Dasrath Hansda & Rajesh Kumar received the award for best actor & co-actor respectively.

Babban Shukla, Mausami Dutta and Amit kumar were the other actors in the play. The play had humanity in society as its central theme.

The second play performed was Tepchu written by Uday Prakash Hayat. This taught the lesson on the rights of labourers.

Both these plays were highly appreciated by both audience & the jury.

The group also received certificates and mementos.

The winners were also honoured.

On this occasion, Babban Shukla president of Nishan said that it is a moment of pride for the group and he also thanked all members directly or indirectly associated with it.
