Jamshedpur Women’s University celebrates 76th Republic Day

Jamshedpur: The 76th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at both campuses of Jamshedpur Women’s University. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Anjila Gupta hoisted the national flag first at the Sidhgora campus and then at the Bistupur campus, saluting the tricolor. The ceremony featured a march past by students of B.Ed, NCC, NSS.

In her address, Dr. Gupta extended Republic Day greetings and emphasized the significance of the phrase “Hum Bharat ke Log” from the Preamble of the Constitution, stating, “It is important to be aware of one’s duty before one’s right.” She also highlighted the contribution of women in framing the Indian Constitution.

Dr. Gupta shared updates on the university’s achievements, including the introduction of new courses like Artificial Intelligence, Digital Marketing, and Biotech, and the smooth conduct of examinations. She mentioned the provision of free education and hostel facilities for Sabar girl students from tribal areas.

VC praised the steady progress of the university’s new campus and congratulated the university family for their efforts. She also announced the upcoming construction of nine new buildings in Sidhgora campus.

In honour of late Economics teacher Rekha Jha, a gold medal and Rs 1 lakh will be awarded to the top Economics student in each convocation. Later, cultural programme was presented by the students. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Registrar Rajendra Jaiswal.
