Jamshedpur, August 19: East Singhbhum acting on reports about shops, hotels and restaurants opened even after 10 pm sprung into action on Wednesday with raids in commercial hubs.
The administration team led by Eas Singhbhum ADM Nand Kishore Lal , Jamshedpur city SP Subhash Chandra Jatt and police officials and members of the flying squad inspected the commercial hub of Bistupur and found nine restaurants opened even after 10 pm and violation the Covid protocols which prohibits opening of shops and units after 10 pm. The directive has been issued by the state disaster management department as part of the Covid restrictions.
The restaurants were found feeding customers after 10 p,m. Taking action the administration team sealed all the nine restaurants and closed for the next 48 hours under measures of the Covid-19 violation. The restaurants owners were warned of severe measures if they were found violating Covid protocols in future.
The banned hookah bar was operating indiscriminately at Scratch Bar on the banks of Marine Drive under the Sonari police station area and even after 10:00 pm, people were found dancing to the tune of DJ, after which taking action the hookah equipment in the bar and the tobacco used in it were confiscated by the Sonari police station and the unit sealed.
At the same time, the stock of liquor was matched by the DSP and sub inspector of the Jamshedpur Excise department, in which some bottles could not be found and the registration book was not found. After revealing the identity of all the people in the bar, instructions were given to go home safely. After receiving all the information of the bar, it was sealed till further orders as part of the campaign.
The team also comprised special officer JNAC, Krishna Kumar, police offiicials of Bistupur, Sakchi, Sonari and Flying Squad team and quick response teams.
The district administration following directive from the health department is on alert in view of the possibility of a third wave of corona infection.
With people adopting a careless approach without wearing masks in market-mall or street and walking along roads without following social distancing either, the East Singhbhum deputy commissioner Suraj Kumar on Thursday directed all the senior and junior officers of the district to take part in checking the masks on the streets in the afternoon. During this, the deputy commissioner personally went to crowded places and checked the masks.
The administration also checked social distancing.
People roaming in Sakchi and Jugsalai without masks were reprimanded. Especially near Jugsalai Tata Steel Gate, a crowd of workers stood without masks and social distancing.
Dhalbhum SDM Sandeep Kumar Meena conducted a mask checking campaign in Haldipokhar of Potka and Azadnagar and Dimna Chowk of Mango etc. He gave necessary directions to the officials present on the spot. A similar campaign was launched by Ghatshila sub divisonal magisrate (SDM) Satyaveer Rajak.
