Jamshedpur: Meeting on clean air program held at JNAC

Jamshedpur, August 19: A meeting was chaired by special officer Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee Krishna Kumar to discuss the components of the National Clean Air Program being run under the 15th finance commission in Jamshedpur region.

In this meeting, the progress of the selected schemes was discussed in the presence of officials from  BIT Mesra, Ranchi, which is the consultant unit for JNAC for this program. The unit advised to reduce the carbon footprint of all the equipments to be purchased during this program.

 At the same time, AAQMS system should be established to obtain necessary data for carrying out carrying capacity study and source appointment study to locate the sources of pollution.

The special officer told that request for proposal for installation of AAQMS system has been prepared and sent to the department for technical approval. After the technical approval is received, the system will be established by inviting tender for it.

 It was told by the representative of the Pollution Control Board that water sprinkler should be used to reduce the dust particles from the air, which should have a system of mist fogger. They informed that the process off tender for the equipment has begun.

It was also told by the officials of the Pollution Control Board that there is a need to do rain water harvesting in Jamshedpur area. Simultaneously, in the second phase, tender is being prepared for rainwater harvesting in all government offices.
