Night temperature to rise gradually in Jamshedpur, says IMD forecast

Jamshedpur: The night temperature is set to rise gradually over the next few days, according to a forecast issued by the Ranchi Meteorological Centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The prediction comes as Jharkhand transitions from winter to warmer days, impacting both minimum and maximum temperatures.

The IMD’s forecast also suggests that a few isolated places in northern Jharkhand are likely to experience light rain today and tomorrow. A duty officer at the Ranchi Meteorological Centre explained, “The weather is in a transition phase due to the departing winter. The maximum temperature would also witness a gradual rise.”

Currently, no significant synoptic system prevails over Jharkhand. However, an induced cyclonic circulation is present over northwest Rajasthan at an altitude of 1.5 km above mean sea level. This system is influencing the weather pattern, contributing to the gradual increase in temperatures across the state.

Statistics from the Ranchi Met Centre reveal a rising trend in minimum temperatures in most parts of Jharkhand. In Jamshedpur and its surrounding areas, the minimum temperature has already touched 18-19 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, in Chatra, the minimum temperature was recorded at around 11 degrees Celsius, the lowest in the state.

Meteorologists attribute the changing weather pattern to the retreat of winter and the onset of warmer conditions. They expect temperatures to rise further as the season progresses. Residents are advised to prepare for warmer nights and fluctuating weather conditions in the coming days.

With the winter season drawing to a close, Jharkhand is set to experience a transition in its weather pattern, marked by a steady increase in both day and night temperatures.
