NHRC summons Seraikela SP

Seraikela: SP Mohammed Arshi of Seraikela-Kharsawan district is set to face the heat. The National Human Rights Commission has summoned him for the second time in four weeks. Earlier on 20 May, the Commission issued summons to the SP of the district and directed it to present its case, but no reply was given by the SP. Once again the commission has issued a summon on 22 September and sought a reply within four weeks i.e. till 30 October 2020. The commission has issued a summon to the SP under Section 13 of the Human Rights Act 1993, making it clear that this final warning is being given. Thereafter, the commission reserves the right to take direct action. The matter involves a confrontation case between MIG 247 resident Alok Dubey and Prince Kumar, under RIT police station of Seraikela-Kharsawan district on May 1, the incident with Prince Kumar Rai and his family and his police action was taken as violation of human rights.

By the way, the matter was brought to the Commission by human rights activist Omkar Vishwakarma, resident of Koderma of Jharkhand. No action has been taken in the said case so far on Alok Dubey, Pappu Dubey, Sumit Rai, Shanti Dubey and Soni Dubey.

However, a counter case was also later filed by Alok Dubey. However, victim Prince Rai had sought justice by tweeting CM Hemant Soren. The victim’s FIR was then lodged at the RIT police station.
