NHES students pledge to promote peace and harmony

Jamshedpur, Sept. 21: The International Peace Day is observed all around the world on 21st September.

The world today is passing through a phase of violence, declining values, reduced tolerance and lack of respect for human rights. Narbheram Hansraj English School decided to celebrate the International Peace Day to create a culture of peace and make the students aware of the importance of living together.

The programme commenced with the oath taking ceremony. The student leaders of the school took the pledge of promoting peace and world harmony. This was followed by a song giving the message of peace.

The peace dove was installed near the school gate by Vijay Rungta, the President of the Students Council, Radhika Patwari, the Vice President and Rachit Parekh, the Aide to the President. This was followed by a poem “I dream of a world of peace” recited by Anushka Banerjee of class 8 B.

At the end of the programme one minute silence was observed in memory of the 18 soldiers killed in the terrorist attack at Uri, Kashmir.
