One unit of blood can save three lives, says City SP
Jamshedpur, August 2: The NHES Alumni Connect organised its third Blood Donation Camp on Saturday at Narbheram Hansraj English School, Bistupur. The event witnessed a strong turnout of voluntary donors, including alumni, teachers, parents, and students, who came together in support of the life-saving initiative.
City Superintendent of Police (SP) Kumar Shivashish graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Nakul Kamani, President of the Narbheram Hansraj English School Managing Committee, attended as Guest of Honour.

The event began with a ceremonial lamp lighting led by the Chief Guest, Nakul Kamani, , Principal Paramita Roy Chaudhury, members of the school’s Managing Committee along with former students including Balajee, Randeep Singh, Ashish Gupta, Tarveen Matharu and several alumni members.
Speaking on the occasion, City SP Kumar Shivashish lauded the school and its alumni for their continued commitment to community service.

“This shows the kind of values this institution instills in its students,” he said. “They study here, go out into the world, and come back to give back to society through such humane initiatives. Blood donation is extremely important—one unit of blood can save up to three lives. That is a huge deal. While we make technological progress, basic healthcare needs like this are still a matter of life and death for many. Organising events like this sends a strong message—not just to the city, but to everyone who reads about it.”

The Blood Bank of Jamshedpur efficiently managed the camp, ensuring smooth collection and storage of donated blood. A total of 130 donors turned up, and 89 units of blood were collected after fulfilling all health parameters.

Guest of Honour Nakul Kamani expressed deep appreciation for the efforts of the NHES Alumni team, Principal Paramita Roy Chaudhury, and Administrative Coordinator Subhash Banerjee.
“This is a very humane and life-saving act,” he remarked. “It’s a selfless service and deserves all the recognition. I truly commend the dedication shown by the alumni and the school leadership in making this possible.”
