Ambulance to be well-equipped with life-saving equipment and trained para medical staff
Jamshedpur, July 21 : National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) on Friday introduced ambulance service between Ranchi and Jamshedpur. The long wait of the people for rescue services at the crucial NH 33 will now be easy available.
The ambulance introduced is well-equipped with life-saving equipment and trained para medical staff. It is designed to help in rushing the patients, especially mishap victims, to the nearest health hub either in Jamshedpur or in Ranchi. The ambulances will be stationed at Chandil in adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district.
The ambulance, provided by the NHAI is being monitored by the civil surgeon of Seraikela-Kharsawan district.
Welcoming the move, civil surgeon, Seraikela-Kharsawan, Dr AP Sinha said that it is an ambitious project and they are looking forward to make it success. The ambulance stationed at Chandil roundabout is operating in co-ordination with Chandil police station.
” The ambulance will be available round-the-clock. from today onwards. The service can be availed on emergency by dialling a toll-free number 1033. However, this number is yet to be activated yet,” added Sinha.
Other numbers for availing the ambulance service is 977187059 (number of the para-medical staff) and 9570422050 (number of the driver).
The civil surgeon went on to inform that out that the ambulance is equipped with a ventilator, an ECG machine, oxygen cylinder and a refrigerator.
” In order to make it more effective there are two trained para-medical staff and two drivers for the ambulance at Chandil. The para-medical staff will be given training on how to use the ECG machine and ventilator and also putting a mishap victim on oxygen,” said the civil surgeon.

There has been an alarming rise in deaths due to delay in patients reaching the hospital for medical emergency treatment and we will ensure and promote to reverse this trend�, said an official of NHAI.
He further added: �the state-of-the-art ambulance will help ferry critical patients safely. We recognize that every single moment is valuable in saving the life of a critical patient and hence the initiative to launch the ambulance service�.
Jamshedpur has long suffered a lack of properly established and coordinated ambulance services that can come to the prompt assistance of cardiac emergencies that require immediate medical assistance. It was observed that casualties were rising in the area and there were not many ambulances that operated with full-fledged team and emergency support devices.
