Newly married burnt for dowry near Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Feb 26: A 19-year-old woman Basumati Karmakar was burnt to death for dowry at Kumir village under Kamalpur thana in Patamda block of East Singhbhum district. 
A complaint has been lodged against her husband Sanjay Karmakar, mother-in-law Sumitra Karmakar, brother in law Gora Karmakar at the Kamalpur thana. 
According to report, Basumati a native of Balrampur in West Bengal was married six months back and since marriage she was being tortured for dowry and she used to complain to her parents and she was found burnt  in suspicious condition at her in-laws house on February 19. She was taken to Tata Main Hospital where she succumbed to her injury on Thursday. The in-laws claim that she had set herself on fire. Police have sent the body for post mortem.
