Jamshedpur, July 4: A newborn baby boy was found lying in an isolated place near Bhutnath Temple under Sonari police station early on Tuesday morning. As the news spread, a police team rushed to the spot and rescued the newborn and subsequently got him admitted at the MGM Medical College Hospital. ” The baby is newborn weighing about six pounds. We are giving best treatment,” said a doctor.
OC, Sonari police station, Anuj Kumar confirmed about the recovery of a newborn baby boy from the bushes this morning.
” We are trying to investigate the persons who dumped the child. As the baby was alive, the morning walker who is a resident of Sonari informed the police station. Soon some police official went over to the spot and recovered the child,” said the officer-in-charge.
“We are of the opinion that the baby might have been dropped in the bushes in the dawn otherwise he must not have survived,” said the officer-in-charge.
On getting to know about the newborn baby boy several couples made a beeline at the hospital . When majority of the curious couple went over to the MGM Medical College Hospital, others approached the Sonari police station officer-in-charge for the child.
“As the news spread several people contacted me and requested us for handing if the child can be given to them. We clearly told such people that the baby has been referred to the Child Welfare Committee, run by the district administration,” said the officer-in-charge.
At the MGM Medical College and Hospital too, the women staff approached the doctors for adopting child.
While on June 22, bodies of twin new born babies were found from a dustbin behind the state-owned MGM Medical College Hospital under Sitaramdera police station area.
