Jamshedpur: A 150-horsepower pump was commissioned last Wednesday at the water treatment plant in Jawahar Nagar, Road No. 15 at Mango. A second 150-horsepower motor pump is expected to be operational by Sunday evening, while a 350-horsepower motor pump at the intake well will be functional by Monday evening. Pappu Singh, MLA Saryu Roy’s public utility representative, confirmed the progress after discussions with officials. He stated that MLA Roy persistently worked to resolve Mango’s long-standing drinking water crisis by meeting local officials, the Principal Secretary and raising the issue in the Assembly. With the commissioning of these pumps, the water supply issue in Mango was expected to ease significantly. On Friday, during the installation at the water treatment plant, several dignitaries including Bala Prasad Raju Singh, Rajesh Srivastava, Azad Singh, Vaibhav Singh, Viru Singh, Prem Mishra, and Mantu Prasad were present.
