Jamshedpur, Sept 19: Police recovered a bike near Dobo bridge under Sonari police station area on Friday.
The bike, (bearing registration number JH05IB6790), belongs to Suraj Gorai, a resident of Dheeraj ganj, Adityapur.
According to reports, Suraj has been missing since Thursday evening.
His family suspects that he may have jumped into the Subernarekha river to end his life.
Suraj, who worked at the Adityapur – based RSB , left his bike parked at the bridge since Thursday night.
However, police have not confirmed the suicide angle yet and are continuing their search operation.
This is not the first time such an incident has occurred at Dobo bridge.
Several people have previously jumped from the bridge, prompting the administration to announce the installation of high safety grills.
However, the work remains incomplete, drawing criticism from locals who accuse the authorities of negligence.
Police said they are questioning family members and acquaintances to ascertain the reasons behind Suraj’s disappearance.
The incident has once again raised concerns over safety at the bridge, with residents demanding stronger preventive measures.
