Jamshedpur: Due to space constraints in the existing Mango Municipal Corporation office, a new office is set to be constructed in front of the current premises at Gandhi Maidan. Officials and employees have been facing difficulties as the corporation currently operates from two separate offices.
With 103 sanctioned posts in the corporation and an increasing number of officials being deployed, the need for a larger and more functional office has become urgent. While the permanent Municipal Corporation office is planned for Baliguma, delays in its construction have led to the decision to build an additional office at Gandhi Maidan.
On Tuesday, in-charge Municipal Commissioner Krishna Kumar inspected the site, reviewing potential locations for the new office, parking facilities and other infrastructure. As part of this plan, the old and dilapidated water tower at Gandhi Maidan will be demolished. The Mango Municipal Corporation will formally request the Water and Sanitation Department to carry out the demolition.
“The assistant suburban commissioner has been directed to initiate correspondence with the concerned department regarding the water tower,” said Krishna Kumar during the inspection.
Once the corporation relocates to Baliguma, the new office at Gandhi Maidan will serve as the official premises for Mango Municipal Corporation, ensuring improved working conditions and better service for residents.
