New Jamshedpur DFO Shaba Alam Ansari takes charge

Jamshedpur, July 5:  Jamshedpur witnessed the appointment of Shaba Alam Ansari as its new Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), who officially assumed office on Friday. Ansari’s posting order was issued by the state government on Saturday, and he wasted no time in beginning his duties the very next afternoon. He took over from former DFO Mamta Priyadarshi, expressing his commitment to persist in his efforts to conserve forests and wildlife, a cause he has championed in his previous term as Jamshedpur’s DFO.

Upon relinquishing her role, Mamta Priyadarshi reflected on her tenure positively, highlighting various initiatives she undertook to safeguard the region’s forests. She extended her best wishes to Shaba Alam Ansari, emphasizing continuity in the conservation efforts she initiated.

Shaba Alam Ansari brings experience to the role, having previously served as Jamshedpur’s DFO in 2015. His return was greeted warmly, and upon assuming office, he pledged to uphold ongoing forest department initiatives. Additionally, Ansari emphasized his intention to create employment opportunities for villagers residing in forested areas, aiming to empower local communities economically.
