Jamshedpur, June 2. In the panchayat elections, the results of five out of seven seats of the Zilla Parishad of Jamshedpur block have come.
Voters have rejected many old faces and have given chance to new faces. The seat number 10 of the Zilla Parishad of the block was quite popular. The outgoing Zilla Parishad chairperson Bulurani Singh was contesting from this seat. But this time he had to face defeat. BJP leader Bari Murmu defeated him by a very small margin.
There were 13 candidates standing in this seat. In which only three were in the fray. The winning candidate and BJP leader Bari Murmu got 3467 votes defeating the nearest candidate, outgoing councillor chairperson Bulurani Singh by 689 votes. Bulurani Singh got 2781 votes. The third position was secured by Vikram Tudu who got 2217 votes.
There are seven Zilla Parishad seats in Jamshedpur block area. In which the results of five seats have been declared on Thursday, the third day of counting of votes. While counting of votes is going on in the remaining two seats. In the five seats where the results came, Kusum Purti, Pankaj Sinha, Kavita Parmar, Poornima Mallick and Bari Murmu have been declared victorious from Zilla Parishad seat number six, seven, eight and nine and ten respectively.
The nearest rivals who lost from the above seats are Soma Devi, Pradeep Guha, Laxmi Devi, Piyali Dey and Bulurani Singh respectively.
A total of 17 candidates are in the fray from Zilla Parishad seat number five of Jamshedpur block. In which Ganesh Solanki, a relative of Union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda, is trailing from his nearest rival. There is a mutual war between Congress, BJP and AJSU leaders in this seat.
Apart from Ganesh Solanki, former BJP district spokesperson Ankit Anand, Youth Congress state general secretary Paritosh Singh and former state secretary Vijay Yadav, AJSU party leaders Rajendra Singh and Manju Kumari are in a contest. But in this seat, a triangular contest is going on between Ganesh Solanki, Congress leader Paritosh Singh and Vijay Yadav. The results are expected on Friday.
