Ranchi: Police have arrested a 25-year-old man for allegedly raping a seven-year-old girl at a village under Hiranpur police station area of Dumka in Jharkhand. According to the girl’s mother, the accused lured her daughter on the pretext of giving her chips and snacks and raped her. The girl was alone at her home at the time of incident. The accused fled the spot after girl raised shouted for help.
The minor narrated her ordeal to her mother when she returned home. An FIR was lodged based on the complaint by the girl’s mother at Hiranpur Police station against the accused, who has been identified as 25-year-old Buddhshwar Hansda. He has been booked under Pocso and other sections of the IPC.
In another case of crime against women from the state, a specially-abled woman was raped by another youth from the village in Koderma district of the state. As per police, the incident happened when the 28-year-old had gone to graze animals in a nearby forest. The accused allegedly raped the woman on the pretext of marriage. The accused has been identified based on the details by the victims and search operation has been launched to nab him.
In a similar incident from Ranchi, a minor girl was raped by a youth in Dhurva area. The accused, Rohit alias Gullu, barged into the victim’s house and raped her when she was alone. The accused was nabbed by neighbours and other residents after the girl screamed for help. Rohit was first assaulted by the locals and then handed over to the police for further action. The girl’s mother had gone to visit a temple in the neighbourhood at the time of the incident.
