Chaibasa,Oct 30: Jharkhand’s minister for Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare, Dr. Irfan Ansari, visited West Singhbhum district on Thursday as part of his scheduled programme.
On arrival at the Chaibasa Circuit House, he was warmly received by Deputy Commissioner Chandan Kumar and Superintendent of Police Amit Renu, who welcomed him with floral bouquets.
Later, Dr. Ansari inspected the Sadar Hospital, Chaibasa, where he closely reviewed the functioning of various health facilities.
Beginning his visit at the Blood Bank Centre, the minister examined the blood testing procedures and reviewed the overall operation of the unit.
During the inspection, he instructed the Deputy Commissioner and Civil Surgeon to take effective measures to ensure continuous improvement in healthcare delivery across the district.
The minister asserted that any negligence in health services would not be tolerated.
He informed that a directive has been issued for inspection of blood banks in all 24- districts of Jharkhand, and a special team has been constituted to carry out the drive—starting from Chaibasa.
The minister also inspected different wards of the hospital, including the canteen, medicine distribution centre, and registration counters, and interacted with patients at the OPD to understand their concerns and feedback on the services.
Speaking to officials, Dr. Ansari said the state government is committed to strengthening healthcare infrastructure and is taking new initiatives to enhance facilities.
He added that the process of purchasing new ambulances is currently underway to improve emergency response services.
During the inspection, several key officials were present, including Civil Surgeon Dr. Bharti Minz, Sadar Sub-Divisional Officer Sandeep Anurag, Deputy Superintendent Dr. Shivcharan Hansda, SDPO Bahaman Tuti, Nazarat Deputy Collector Devendra Kumar, and Confidential Officer Kumar Harsh, along with other medical officers and staff.
Ambulance in health minister’s convoy narrowly escapes after tyre blast in Rajnagar
Jamshedpur/Chaibasa, Oct 30: An ambulance accompanying Jharkhand Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari’s convoy narrowly escaped a major accident on Thursday when one of its tyres burst near Khokhro village under Rajnagar police station limits.
The incident occurred while the minister was traveling by road from Chaibasa to Jamshedpur after completing an inspection of the Chaibasa Sadar Hospital.
The sudden tyre blast caused the ambulance to lose balance, but the driver managed to bring the vehicle under control, preventing it from overturning.
Four doctors on board — part of the medical team assigned to accompany the minister’s convoy — escaped unhurt.
According to one of the doctors, the medical team had been deployed as part of the minister’s official entourage for his visit and onward journey to Jamshedpur.
